I was very curious as well as happy at the prospect of fulfilling my long term ambition of visiting the dream city, Dubai, along with my wife and 4 year old kid. I just finished my baggage checking and was about to get my boarding pass from the Etihad Airways counter. Though my Visa was taken care of by my cousin in Dubai, I booked my flight with Etihad.

My friend who visited Dubai the year before had been telling me about the great experience she had with Etihad. Though this was a busy season, I got my tickets at a very reasonable rate. I just used the Etihad coupon code which was available online while booking the ticket and as usual, I got an amazing discount. I was quite surprised seeing the offers Etihad was offering as sales and coupons.

Inflight Experience with Etihad
My inflight experience was also stunning. Starting from the initial impression I had of them from the point of entrance, they never failed to impress me. The crew took care of the kids and the older people for priority boarding as well as helping them get seated first. Staffs were very attentive to the passengers’ needs and every business was taken care of with great smiles.

They were very playful with the kids and even in their busy schedule, they found time to chat and play with my kid as well as helping her with the video game. I was very hungry since I hadn’t taken lunch before as I was in a hurry. Food was excellent, after which I had a nice sleep till I reached Dubai.

I kept on reminding my cousin that we were only in Dubai for a very short trip and that we only had 3 days with us. As such, we didn’t have any time to waste sitting at home so she promised to take us to some of the must-see spots in this glorious city, and here’s how our experience went down.

Burj Khalifa
At the heart of the Dubai, stands the world’s tallest manmade structure Burj Khalifa. The structure is 828 meter in height. This building is known as the Jewell of Dubai. At night, the whole tower is decorated with lights and on special occasions, there will be great laser shows, which is one of the world’s best light and sound shows. There is an observation deck at the top of the building at 124th floor which gives you an amazing view of the city. Wow. What a way to start a trip. It’s simply amazing.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

Dubai underwater zoo is so amazing. You can go for scuba diving, but I didn’t opt for that as I was a little afraid seeing as it was my first time. We just went for a glass bottom boat ride. The list of things to wow you here is long including swim with the sharks, meet the dolphins, huge variety of fish, Humboldt penguins, Otters, lion fish, giant spider piranha, caiman crocodiles, crabs and a lot more – All the underwater species are almost all are here in this great aquarium. My kid especially loved watching what they only got to see in Disneyland.

Ski Dubai
Then my kid’s most awaited destination reached! Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East is a beautiful wintery setting with 60000 tonnes of snow. We had fun throwing snowballs at each other and the kids enjoyed building snowman. Skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing are the other great amusements here. Cuddly Snow Penguins are the new guests here.

Palm Jumeirah
Considered one of the most exotic manmade Islands, Palm Jumeirah is the latest palm shaped Island in Dubai. Totally 3 palm Islands are planned. This Island consists of big shopping malls, hotels and beach resorts. We just did some shopping there as my wife was afraid that she may not get time on the final day for shopping. The 6-lane highway bridge through the sea to the Island is an attraction. There are a number of attractive theme parks too.

It was finally our last day in Dubai. We realized it would take a minimum one month to full explore the attraction of the dream city. On the final day we did some shopping and at night, my cousin dropped us to the airport. We were finally going back home but the enchanting moments I had at the city and the excellent services at Etihad Airways made me think of planning a second visit on my next vacation.
