Go Camping

Now that summer is finally out, ditch those heavy coats and bring out your camping boots! California is lucky to have numerous camping spots for everyone of all ages to enjoy. These camping spots, which cater to different tastes, offer more than just relaxation and amazing views. Most of them, in fact, are unique in their own right. Take for example the Tahoe National Forest which houses the largest alpine lake in the region. Or the Sequoia National Forest which is famous for having the most number of humungous sequoia groves in the whole world. Despite of where you want to hike, the experience will surely be unforgettable!

Go to the Beach

Summer wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the beach, especially if you are in California! Aim for the sun-kissed golden skin while enjoying the cool breeze, sand in your toes and relaxing waves that the beaches has to offer. Take the book you have always wanted to read or go play a few rounds of volleyball with your girlfriends.  Regardless of your itinerary, as long as it’s the beach, you win this summer. Add some booze and good music in between to make it even better!

Rent a Jet Ski or Paddle Board

If you crave for speed and water at the same time, fret not my friend, jet ski is the answer to those cravings. Just a two-hour drive east from downtown Los Angeles is the biggest jet ski friendly Lake Elsinore. Private vendors along the coastline provide watercraft for rent as long as you obtain your boating permit from the local marina or city hall. If you don’t want such fuss, then try going for the paddle board. Paddle boarding may be undermined by many but what they don’t know is that it takes a lot of balancing skill and not to mention arm and leg strength to be able to move adequately. So if you are up to the challenge, go for the paddleboards!

Go to a Museum

Some people prefer to avoid the crowds this summer. As most, if not all, go to beaches and lakes, why not go for some cultural trip in museums in the state? If you are into specialty museums, go check out the USS Midway Museum, a maritime museum that exhibits a comprehensive collection of aircrafts majority of which were built in Southern California. If you are into art, then better pay a visit to the Getty Center. The museum houses famous pre 20th century artworks and photographs from all over the world. Equally famous is the architecture of the museum itself. The gardens of the Centre are a must visit as well!

Visit an Amusement Park

Nobody is ever too old to go to amusement parks! Go wake your inner child and spend the entire day in an amusement park! Disneyland, Legoland, Sixflags or Universal Studios, you have a lot of options to choose from. Wear those comfy flats and call your friends, or family. Dare them to ride the scary fast rides, take tons of silly photos or eat those crazy sweet treats, when you are in an amusement park, there are no rules to follow!
