The ocean is a treasure trove full of secrets, wonders, and mysteries. Snorkelling is one of the best ways that man uses in order to explore the world beneath us and quench our innate thirst for discovery. Snorkelling also has several significant health benefits, all of which are scientifically proven. These health benefits are similar to those accrued when you swim regularly or participate in any water sports consistently.

Snorkelling is not only an exciting activity to indulge in, it is also quite easy to take up as a hobby. That is why everyone is encouraged to participate in this water activity regardless of age, or sex. However, before you go on your first snorkelling adventure, you need to have a few tips on hand. These tips will help you understand the basics of the activity as well as ensure that you enjoy yourself to the maximum. The tips include:

  1. Ensure that the face mask is a perfect fit

This is by far the most important tip of all when it comes to guaranteeing your safety while snorkelling. The mask you select for this activity needs to be a perfect fit for your face. A small experiment is necessary to determine if the mask is right for you. Hold the mask to your face and breathe in naturally. If the mask remains perfectly in place and seals your face completely , then it is the right fit. If not, then you need to select a proper fitting one.

The reason you need to ensure it fits is so that water does not leak in. Keep your hair out of the mask. In case you have a moustache, please consider shaving it before you embark on the snorkelling adventure.

  1. Practice your breathing

Before submerging, you need to practice your breathing through the snorkel. This will ensure you establish a rhythm of breathing that you will use when you are under water. The breathing exercises will also help you become more comfortable with breathing underwater. When practicing your breathing, refrain from biting the tube, simply rest your teeth on it.

Once you have done a few exercises, put your face in the water and float calmly for a few minutes. This will help you further in getting accustomed to the breathing while you are underwater.

  1. Choose a comfortable pair of fins

The fins that you select need to be comfortable, and not too tight. Choose a pair that do not impede your movement in any way and do not pinch your toes at all. You run a very high risk of cramping if you use fins that are too tight. Slightly bigger fins will also work well as long as they are comfortable.

  1. Have the right materials for defogging

Defogging is essential and it involves cleaning your lenses so that you can see clearly. There are some materials you can use to help you defog your lenses. For instance, a tiny drop of baby oil on the lenses has been known to do the trick. You can also use crushed leaves or certain gel products to get the job done.

you relied on the video to make your point. You obviously know what youre talking about, why waste
your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog
when you could be giving us something enlightening
    to read?

  3. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Internet explorer.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I
thought I’d post to let you know. The design look great though!
Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Cheers
